Multistate Traffic Violations

The consequences for traffic violations depend on where you are licensed. In Missouri, you will lose your license for 30 days if you accumulate eight points in an 18 month period; if you accumulate 12 points in 12 month period, you will lose your license for one year.

In Kansas, your past offenses could stay on file for years, despite being off your driving record. While Kansas does not work on a point system, your license may be suspended after three or four minor violations in a 12 month period. Kansas also has a "habitual violator" status, which causes your license to be suspended for three years if you receive three major violations in a five year period, including driving without insurance or reckless driving.

Multistate traffic violations are a major issue because the charging officer may not know the laws in the state in which you are licensed. We have experienced attorneys that understand the various laws and how to help you keep your license. We can guide you through the legal process and help take violations off your record.
